On Wednesday, I went back to work to begin my 16th year...hard to believe! The kids were super excited because Chad was off and they got to have a Daddy Day...and what a daddy day they had! They left early for Newnan where they ate breakfast at the Dwarf House. Another detail making it a super exciting day was getting to take Logan along for the fun! Chad even took my BFF to capture the day in pictures...
Then it was on to Monkey Joes...the kids reported a new great love for this place!
They had so much fun!
They had one more amazing day hanging out with Daddy all day. We had a great first day at school and it was so inspiring. We had great speakers and we all left excited about a new school year.
On Thursday the kids had another amazing day. Thanks to our sweet friend, Toni, Claudia and Cooper got to spend the day touring the Blue Bell ice cream factory and eating Mexican. They had BIG FUN with Mrs. Toni and her kiddos. After they got home, we headed over to KES for Claudia's 2nd grade orientation. I didn't take my camera but did snap a few pics with my phone.
One very exciting thing that happened this year is our friend Michele and her family moved back home. That means a sweet girl named Rachel moved to KES for 2nd grade and by God's hand, she and Claudia are on the same 2nd grade roll! We were so very thankful for God to give them each other this year. Claudia and Rachel will be sweet friends for each other!

Another SUPER exciting fact about 2nd grade is MRS. MOTLEY! This is Claudia's 2nd grade teacher and we are so thankful and pleased to have her. She is a sweetheart through and through and we are absolutely certain this is the classroom God hand placed our sweet girl in.

Rachel's desk is directly in front of Claudia!
And then came Friday...
Early Friday morning, a favorite PawPaw came to pick up Claudia and Cooper to take them to his house for the day. They were very excited to spend the day with PawPaw and Nana. They just had no idea what else was in store for them. After they got there, Nana went and picked up Lane and Emma and they spent the entire day. Emma and Claudia are just months apart and Lane and Cooper are just months apart. They had so much fun playing with cousins all day in the country. They were FILTHY! Well, at least the boys were! This is Cooper and Lane...again, only my phone for a camera...sorry!
We got so tickled at my daddy trying to change a number in his cell phone!
After feasting on fresh veggies, the kids and I left for home. Right now we have to take the long way past their church because of road construction. When we were coming up on the church I noticed the cross lit up on the top. It brought the sweetest memory to my mind. When I was a little girl, I cannot recall how old, my daddy came home one night and told us the church had a new cross. We waited until dark and rode to our church so we could see it on the very first night. All these years later, that same cross still shines into the dark in that community as a light for Jesus. It was so sweet to remember the first time I ever saw the cross lit up and to share the memory with Claudia and Cooper. I even called my daddy on my way home to remind him of the night we went. Of course he remembered, he always does!
It was a busy week to end a great summer!
